A man who travelled to Durban hoping to find employment is now appealing to the public to help him reconnect with his family after spending several years living on the streets.
His name is Hendrik Frederik Nortman, born on 3 February 1980.
According to Jeanette Dreyer, who is assisting Hendrik in tracing his relatives, he originally came to Durban in search of work.
Unfortunately, things did not go as he had hoped.
Unable to secure employment, Hendrik eventually found himself living on the streets.
Years have passed, but he has not given up hope of finding his family.
Jeanette says Hendrik has shared information about his relatives in the hope that someone will recognise their names and help him reconnect with them.
WHO IS HENDRIK LOOKING FOR?
Hendrik is hoping to locate his sisters:
Jenny Nortman, believed to be approximately 48 years old.
Adri Nortman, believed to be approximately 52 years old.
Hendrik remembers that she has two children and previously worked at American Swiss in Westgate.
Susan Pretorius, believed to be in her 50s.
Hendrik says she is married to Frans Pretorius, who previously worked for SAPS before reportedly starting his own business.
According to the information Hendrik remembers, Susan and Frans may be living in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.
He also recalls that his family originally came from Potchefstroom before moving to Vereeniging.

A MAN STILL HOPING TO SEE HIS FAMILY AGAIN
For Hendrik, this appeal is about more than finding relatives. It is about reconnecting with the people he has been separated from for years.
Jeanette, who is helping him, hopes that sharing his story will reach someone who knows the Nortman or Pretorius families.
She also hopes Hendrik will receive the assistance and support he needs to rebuild his life.
