  • Handover: KwaDukuza Municipality handed over the occupation certificate in a ceremonial event around late April 2026. This marks the end of the main development phase and allows the resort to proceed with final preparations and opening.
  • Location: Tinley Manor, about 45 minutes north of Durban on the Indian Ocean coast. It’s Club Med’s first resort in South Africa, combining beach and safari experiences.
  • Opening Date: Scheduled for 4 July 2026 (or early July). Bookings opened in October 2025.
  • Scale: A major R2–2.5 billion investment. It features over 400 rooms/suites and is described as one of the most expensive resorts ever built in South Africa. It will create significant jobs (hundreds direct, more indirect) and boost local tourism.

With the certificate in hand, operational teams are on site for staff training, onboarding, and final setups. This is a big win for KZN tourism.
