The KwaZulu-Natal Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) has arrested a prominent KwaMashu witch doctor for masterminding the murders of African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) member Thamsanqa Kingdom Gcabashe and two eThekwini municipal police officers Lindokuhle Madonsela and Ndumiso Thusi.
Gcabashe was shot on 26 May 2020 in Mpumalanga, Hammarsdale. Investigations revealed that it was a mistake and the assailants intended to kill Madonsela.
The suspect allegedly claimed that Madonnsela was having an affair with his wife and planned to have her killed.
A few days after Gcabashe was killed, Madonsela and Thusi were killed on their way to work.
The arrest of the witch doctor brings the total number of people arrested in this case to 6, one of whom is Holy Shozi, a member of the ANC BGC in Hammarsdale.
Others are Fana Shabalala, Zamokuhle Nyandu, Mthokozisi Ntando Blose, and Sandile Msezane.
The sorcerer will make his first appearance in the Hammarsdale Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The case of the other suspects is now in the Durban High Court.
