Adelei Jade

Adelei Jade is an independent South African singer-songwriter, solo vocalist, and performer based in the Durban/South Coast area of KwaZulu-Natal (including Amanzimtoti/Toti and the Hibiscus/lower South Coast regions such as Margate and Port Shepstone).

Background and Early Career

Born on 3 March 1987 in KwaZulu-Natal, she developed a passion for music young and began performing seriously around age 12–13. Early opportunities included school performances that built local recognition around Durban, two record-company offers she declined to focus on schooling, a reported Hollywood showcase as a child, and opening for Britney Spears. In 2009 she competed on South African Idols, reaching 10th place at Sun City.

She later lived in Rustenburg (North West province) before relocating around 2015 to the Durban South/Amanzimtoti area to be closer to performance opportunities. She has remained active as an independent artist on the KZN South Coast.

Music Style and Releases

Her music blends pop, rock, soul, country, R&B, and related styles, performed in English and Afrikaans. She is known for a powerful, versatile voice often described as rich, dark, raspy/husky, with strong emotional delivery, vocal control, and grit. Live she does both original material and covers (examples cited across profiles include Celine Dion, Janis Joplin, Adele, Pink, Tina Turner, Bonnie Tyler, Suzi Quatro, Joan Jett, AC/DC, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Elvis Presley, Billy Joel, and others).

Her debut album, an 11-track CD titled Triple 555 (also referred to as Tripple 555 or Triple-555), was released around September–November 2015 and includes original compositions. The lead single “I Never Heard It Said That Way (Triple 555)” is available on YouTube. She continues to perform originals from the album alongside covers at live shows.

Achievements and Activity

She has competed in talent shows including Talent Africa (advancing to finals/regionals around 2016) and won gold at Talent Africa and the International Arts Talent Show in 2018. She is frequently booked for weddings, functions, corporate events, shows, concerts, festivals, restaurants, and beach clubs, and is noted for strong audience interaction and getting crowds moving.

As of recent years (2024–2026 activity), she remains active as an independent solo vocalist. She posts performance clips and covers on TikTok (@adelei.jade), with videos of originals like “Triple-555” and covers (Elvis, Imagine Dragons’ “Thunder,” Amy Macdonald, and others) from venues on the South Coast. She also appears on YouTube (channel under her name, with live clips such as at Margate Beach Club) and has been listed on platforms like Twine, event booking sites, and local directories for hire in the Durban/Port Shepstone area. Recent event mentions include performances at places like Margate Country Club / The 19th Tee Bistro and Warnadoone Skiboat Club.

Contact and Booking Notes (from public listings)

Older public contacts associated with her or management (e.g., Marie Bekker) have included phone numbers such as +27 82 656 2824 and email addresses linked to her name; more recent activity points to social media for updates. She is listed as available for hire via platforms like Twine and event entertainment sites focused on KwaZulu-Natal.
