A Zimbabwean man arrested in South Africa, wanted in England for the murder of his wife and two daughters, will return to court next week.

Mr Ndodaba Tshuma (45) appeared briefly in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court today, Monday, on a charge of possessing an illegal firearm, which he allegedly used to commit suicide. The man was arrested by police on Friday.

According to national police spokesperson Brig Athlenda Mathe, they are working with the international crime branch, Interpol, to determine how Tshuma arrived in South Africa, and whether anyone helped him evade justice.

The man’s arrest has raised concerns among security activists about the country’s border enforcement, which is allowing dangerous criminals to enter, putting the lives of citizens at risk.

According to police, Tshuma arrived in South Africa on July 5. He was reportedly with other family members when he was arrested.
